Accessibility and preferences
Open account Settings for Accessibility controls. Everyday text and coding options are available only in the IDE under Tools → Open Editor Settings → Editor preferences. The IDE also has a separate Accessibility section. Account preferences are private to your account; signed-out preferences stay in the browser. Operating-system reduced motion and forced colors are respected.

| Screen reader support | Detect automatically, On or Off. |
| Tab moves focus out of code editor | Makes Tab leave code instead of inserting indentation. Ctrl+M toggles the editor’s Tab focus behavior. |
| Reduce motion | Requests reduced interface animation. |
| High contrast | Enables the available high-contrast preference. |
| Extra reading space | Adjusts reading spacing. |

Controls disable while saving/loading account preferences. If saving fails, an error explains that previous preferences were restored. Read that status before assuming the change persisted.
The IDE also offers Editor theme, semantic Java highlighting, deprecated-symbol strikethrough, symbol occurrence highlighting and a color lab. Themes/custom colors apply across projects. Unused symbol dimming remains disabled. Java documentation preferences control generation on /** + Enter, comment continuation, hover documentation, signature help and stale-tag warnings.
Use skip links and named panels for navigation. The editor announces Ctrl+M, F1, Alt+F1 and F8 help. Menus support arrows and Escape; tool tabs provide arrow/Home/End navigation where implemented. These features do not establish formal accessibility compliance or complete keyboard equivalence for canvas wiring. The audit gap report records remaining verification.
