Save and recover work
The header save icon opens Project save status. Its accessible name/tooltip describe the current state. Personal and student assignment projects autosave; starter editing and template publication can require explicit application of changes.
| State or control | Meaning and next step |
|---|---|
| Saved to account | The server acknowledged current changes. |
| Account save pending / Saving to account… | Changes are not acknowledged yet. Wait or choose Save now. |
| Saved locally in this browser | Recovery exists on this device, separately from account saving. |
| Loaded changes saved locally | Recovery covers loaded files. Unopened files remain in your account; this is not a complete offline backup. |
| Local recovery unavailable | Browser storage failed. Download important edited files; account saving may still work. |
| Project save blocked / failed | Read the error, check connection/access, and review competing copies. |
| Save now | Flushes pending saves; disabled while busy. |
| Review recovery copies | Opens comparison/recovery when copies need attention. |
| Saved for this session | Temporary demo work, deleted when the session ends; no permanent browser recovery. |
Edits normally schedule account saving after one second of inactivity, with a five-second maximum wait. Browser recovery waits for a short typing pause. Account failures have bounded retries; a browser copy does not prove the account accepted the edit.
Reloads and multiple tabs
Section titled “Reloads and multiple tabs”Older recovery data or unsaved edits in another tab can conflict with account state. Automatic upload pauses when the base is uncertain. Compare copies before selecting one. Choosing the account copy preserves browser candidates first; it does not merge concurrent edits automatically.
Source files, circuit edits and project configuration belong to the workspace snapshot. Runtime output, live hardware readings and build caches do not establish save status.
Before submitting, finish pending saves and use the assignment submission action. A submission freezes an attempt; later editing does not change it. See Submissions.
