Arduino projects

Choose Arduino in New project, then an available target. The main .ino filename is derived from the project name. ESP32 starters also contain config.h and README.md; the UNO starter is a serial example using 9600 baud.

setup() runs once on boot and loop() repeats. ESP32 starters print serial messages and toggle an external LED pin: GPIO2 on original ESP32 and GPIO8 on C3/S3. These are not promises about a physical board’s onboard LED. Connect an external LED and appropriate current-limiting resistor for hardware work.

Choose Run to compile/reuse firmware and start that target’s emulator. All four Arduino targets have browser execution paths, but peripheral and debug capabilities differ. Supported boards lists the differences. Build compiles without starting simulation; Flash is available only for supported Arduino ESP32 hardware, not UNO.

Use Files and explorer for local/ZIP/Git libraries and data assets. Hardware workbench covers parts, connections, serial output and plotter controls.
